Slow Wi-Fi isn't always your plan. Half your street might be on the same channel. Check: type `netsh wlan show networks mode=bssid` and look at the channel numbers. On 2.4 GHz only 1, 6 and 11 don't overlap, and anything in between overlaps both sides.
